Tasha Austin is a Principal in Deloitte’s Risk and Financial Advisory services GPS practice, and is a leader in Artificial Intelligence and data analytics, with experience integrating process automation and analytics into commercial and federal financial statement audits, fraud, dispute analysis and investigations. Tasha is a trusted advisor to CFOs, Chief Data Officers, and other C-Suite and Finance Executives across the federal community and provides strategic direction to help them solve their agencies’ most complex and unique data challenges to drive financial management reform and digital transformation. Tasha is also a trusted advisor for helping federal executives determine their agency’s readiness for integrating AI capabilities to deliver their mission. Tasha also serves on Deloitte’s AI Institute Editorial Board where she provides strategic direction on market trends, client perspectives, and building eminence.
Tasha recently co-authored the Future of Open Data: Maximizing the Impact of the Open Government Data Act, and previously co-authored Data Act 2022: Changing Technology, Changing Culture, which provides a forward-thinking approach to achieve an insight-driven organization while understanding and navigating cultural and technology challenges.
Tasha serves in an Inclusion leadership role at Deloitte, where she focuses on recruiting talent from untapped communities, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and for developing and advancing underrepresented minorities and women. She also has a passion for bridging the data analytics and digital divide in under-represented communities, including non-profit organizations that focuses on equality and social justice. She recently collaborated with the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth and led a data analytics pro bono project to promote equal opportunity across the Country and provide a second chance for previously incarcerated youth through actionable insights.
Tasha serves as a STEM Ambassador on behalf of Deloitte and the community. Across the Greater Washington community, Tasha focuses on developing rising STEM talent by serving as a Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at the Northern Virginia Community College.
Tasha is a member of NABA’s DC Chapter and helps lead Deloitte’s work with recruiting students and experienced professionals from several NABA platforms.
Tasha has a BS and MS in Mathematics from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC, and an MBA from Howard University in Washington, DC. Tasha resides in Bowie, MD with her family.
