Angel Johnson has worked in the field of Accounting for over 10 years and is currently a Lead Auditor with the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Large Business & International Division (LB&I). As a lead auditor, Ms. Johnson examines publically traded and privately owned companies that have a global presence. In her current role as an auditor, she works with a wide range of accounting professionals including attorneys, CPAs and enrolled agents. Originally from Grand Rapids, MI., Angel Johnson earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Master’s of Science Degree in Taxation from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Prior to working with the IRS, she worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a tax credit consultant and financial services tax return preparer.
Ms. Johnson currently resides in Milwaukee, WI with her son, Michael. In addition to her responsibilities as a mother and auditor, she is a Past President of NABA – Milwaukee Chapter, NABA Central Region President, and the Program Chair for the Improvement of Minorities at the IRS (AIM-IRS) – Milwaukee Chapter.
As part of her roles with NABA and AIM-IRS, Ms. Johnson creates, leads, and facilitates programs and seminars on networking, interviewing, transitioning from college to work, and workshops on “Leading from anywhere in the Organization”. In addition to those roles, Ms. Johnson is a member of the finance committee at Parklawn Assembly of God where she assists with the coordination of the yearly budget process.
