NABA is the first organization of its type in this country whose primary focus is to empower blacks in the accounting and finance field. Our overarching objective is to bridge the opportunity gap for black professionals and to create business leaders. Our programs are a core part of that mission. Focusing on the essential skills for success, NABA offers unique programs that blend:
Our membership is diverse, ranging from undergraduate students to C-Suite Executives to retirees. Our members are trained and skilled in multiple disciplines – from accounting, to finance to education and more. As a result, our programs are designed to help black accounting and finance professionals seeking to maintain their technical acumen, keep up with change in the profession, and advance their careers. We partner with organizations and/or companies who are seeking a diverse talent pipeline to ensure that our programs are timely, relevant and customized to the needs of our membership.
The Convention & Expo is the organization’s annual business meeting held annually and over 3-4 power packed days. The convention provides a national forum for programming, training, and networking while bringing together NABA members, the corporate community, academia, and others interested in promoting the mission and goals of the association. Attendees also have the opportunity to participate in the Career Expo which features a Career Fair where you can learn more about internships and permanent positions and participate in on-site interviews.
This program offers events addressing on all aspects of personal and professional development focused on the unique needs of black women in the profession.
Part of our Blue Ribbon Initiative, this annual assessment is designed to recognize diversity and include best practices for employers of accounting and finance professionals.
