November 6, 2012 NABA, INC. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTED to AICPA NATIONAL COMMISSION on DIVERSITY

Greenbelt, MD (November 6, 2012)- The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) Executive Director Guillermo Hysaw is appointed to the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) National Commission on Diversity. Hysaw along with 14 other distinguished members will focus on increasing diversity amongst the CPA profession and the advancement of minorities throughout the accounting industry. Hysaw’s expertise in strategic management, financial modeling, and his dedication to diversity initiatives has provided him a wealth of experience and knowledge that will greatly contribute to the mission of AICPA.

As previously announced NABA's Executive Director, Gregory Johnson will be stepping down at the end of the
year. With the timing of his departure, the National Board has decided to fill the open VP of Operations position
immediately. The VP of Operations role is the "number two" position in the National Office and filling it puts
NABA at a great advantage in managing the intricacies of an Executive Director transition.

NABA, INC. GIVES A DAY OF SERVICE TO THE ORLANDO COMMUNITY
Saturday, June 25, 2011 – 7:30 a.m. - Trotters Park – 1905 Lee Road
Day of Financial Literacy and Education – 9:00 a.m. - Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center Park

GREENBELT – May 15, 2011 –NABA, Inc. is pledging a two-part National Day of Service to the Orlando community during its 41st Annual National Convention & EXPO from June 22 – 25, 2011. NABA, Inc. volunteers will converge on Trotters Park in Orlando, FL to give it a much needed facelift. Trotter’s Park, which is one of the city’s four cornerstone parks, was originally the home of The Ben White Raceway. In fact, facilities at the site
still reflect that historical equestrian theme. The 100.2 acres of public park property houses 4-lighted soccer fields, 4-lighted baseball fields as well as biking and walking trails. The City of Orlando and Parks and Recreation department will provide the equipment needed and give NABA members a list of specific tasks that need to be done. NABA volunteers will work at Trotters Park from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. NABA’s Day of Service is being sponsored by CSX and Winn Dixie.

June 13, 2011 NABA, INC. RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY KICKS OFF CAREER EXPO
Thursday, June 23, 2011 – 9:00 a.m. – Floor – Rosen Shingle Creek Resort

GREENBELT, MD – JUNE 13, 2011 – NABA, Inc.’s national and local leaders, as well as sponsors will open the Career EXPO and Product Pavilion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 23 at 9:00 a.m.  While the EXPO is open and FREE to the public, all entrants must have a badge.  For the second time in Convention history will open the EXPO to the local community.  A badge can be obtained by going to the Registration Booth with your resume that shows you have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or business discipline.  NABA, Inc. goes one step further to not only cater to its members, but also pay attention to the city that hosts our Annual Convention.

May 12, 2011 ORLANDO ELECTED OFFICIALS ANNOUNCE WHAT NABA, INC. WILL DO DURING 40TH ANNUAL CONVENTION & EXPO

NABA, Inc. will open its EXPO to Orlando residents with at least a Bachelor Degrees so they can be interviewed by the Fortune 500 companies participating in their Expo on Thursday, June 23, 2011. NABA, INC. will also donate a Day of Service to Orlando on Saturday, June
25, 2011 at 7:30 a.m by painting and refurbishing Trotter’s Park. In addition, Financial Literacy Classes will be held Saturday, June 25 at 9:00 a.m. at the Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center Park for middle and high school students, their parents and senior citizens.

GREENBELT, MD – JANUARY 28, 2011 – NABA, Inc. chapters around the United States will pa articipate in the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. The program offers free ttax help to people who cannot afford professional assistance. Pa articipating volunteers will prepare basic tax returns forr low-income taxpayers, including the elderly, limited-English profiicient and people with disabilities. Assistance is prov vided at community and neighborhood centers, libraries, schools,sh hopping malls and other convenient locations.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that we have lost a great leader and family member. Barry Winters, CPA, a NABA, Inc. National Board Member, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010.  We are so grateful to have had Barry as a member of the NABA, Inc. family.  Barry's legacy will continue to impact our operations and vision for generations to come.

 August 3, 2010 American Accounting Association and AICPA Create Pathways Commission to Study the Future of Accounting Higher Education

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Accounting Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants together have formed the Pathways Commission to study possible future paths of higher education for those seeking entry into the accounting profession.
