Benefits of CPI Membership

Networking

You are now a NABA professional member! As a CPI member, you will be paired with a seasoned professional member who will serve as your mentor during your transition from student to working professional. The results from our most recent professional membership survey shows that the #1 reason professional members joined NABA was because of the wealth of networking opportunities. No wonder, our network of professional members consists of individuals working in the business related fields of accounting, consulting, finance, tax and information technology. As a professional member, you will also choose affiliation with a professional chapter closest to where you live or work. Networking opportunities take place at venues ranging from local events, conducted by your professional chapter, to national platforms at NABA’s Annual National Convention & Expo. These opportunities will allow you to connect with new and seasoned business professionals who can encourage and provide the guidance needed for career advancement.

Professional Development

As a young professional who really wants to achieve real career success, chances are that you will be required to undertake some form of continuing professional development. After networking, the second most reason professional members expressed why they stay connected with NABA is because of our ongoing technical training where members can earn CPE credits. CPE courses include accounting and auditing, consulting services, ethics, management, personal development, specialized knowledge and application, and taxation.

Leadership Development

The most essential element of success in business is competent and confident leadership. NABA leadership development training focuses on leadership thinking and best practices from around the globe, ensuring that NABA members are equipped to achieving their personal career goals and impacting the success of their company.

Volunteering

NABA is committed to serving the communities in the city that hosts our Annual National Conventions. The NABA Day of Service was developed with this in mind. It is a project in which NABA members and partners take to the community for volunteer efforts, such as building homes, providing financial education counseling, or working in a neighborhood clean-up project. Similar community service initiatives are also sponsored by most NABA chapters nationwide. One such program NABA chapters conduct is the VITA program which offers free tax help for low-to-moderate-income individuals who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Volunteers receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country.

As you can see, there are many reasons and incentives to stay connected with NABA after graduation, and many ways NABA can help you advance your career. We encourage you to keep your membership active and stay involved with your chapter. To learn of the professional
