Center for Advancement of Minority Accountants

The Center for Advancement of Minority Accountants (CAMA) was established by the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) in 1989. CAMA's overall purpose is to attract and advance talented minorities into and throughout accountancy-related careers in business and academia.

As the premier organization serving the interests of African-American business professionals, NABA faces challenges relative to unresolved, existing issues, as well as those that will surface as a result of changing demographics.

The Center will provide the opportunity for cooperative arrangements with colleges and universities, public accounting, the corporate sector, and government. It is the platform from which NABA addresses significant issues such as recruitment, retention, and professional development of minority accountants.

CAMA is housed in NABA's National Headquarters and managed under the guidance of NABA's Executive Director. The Center's in-house staff includes the Center Director and support staff. CAMA is supported by the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc.,  but seeks benefactors to expand its programmatic thrust.
